New Stockist ReFound!

Great news - we have a new stockist in Belfast City Centre!

'ReFound' is a design collective specialising in upcycling tired old furniture into new one-off 'reclaimed' vintage pieces. Previously having 'pop-up' temporary shops around Belfast, ReFound have now set up shop in a permanent new home in the city centre.

The ReFound Building front door

'The ReFound Building' is an old Georgian building full of beautiful, original period features. The multi-roomed shop, which was once an architects' studio and a solicitors' office, is now full of designer furniture, art pieces, home wares and decor, jewellery, clothing & stationery - all made from upcycled or recycled materials.

We have a range of our cards in the shop, made from recycled card with vintage collages and buttons, and our plantable Christmas tags (made from plantable seeded paper to grow wildflowers afterwards) - which are exclusive to the ReFound shop.

Our cards are displayed in a wall-mounted vintage suitcase

I love having our cards are displayed in a vintage suitcase - the whole shop is full of creatively displayed wonderful pieces and curiosities that just makes me smile, and want to take everything home!

The ReFound Building is at No. 7 Wellington Place, Belfast.
Opening hours: Thursday - Saturday 10am - 5pm.
Just look for the red pillars and follow the furniture display up the stairs to the main shop!

Mollie Makes Christmas - Review & Giveaway!

When I heard Mollie Makes crafter's magazine had released a new Christmas book, I couldn't wait to see it. 'Mollie Makes Christmas: Living & Loving a Handmade Christmas' is a collection of brand new festive craft projects from selected crafter-makers & designers.

Read on for a chance to win a copy!

It's as interesting & pretty as the magazine is, with beautiful photography and design layout throughout. Its' size and feel means it's perfect to curl up with, grab a cuppa & get inspired. One of my favourite things is each new project page is covered with what looks like Christmas wrapping paper from the Fifties - cute!

Each project has the usual Mollie Makes' step-by-step pics, and there's great tips for each project, as well as plenty of blog links & websites, so you can continue finding inspiration well after the festive season.

My favourites include the paper-cut tree ornaments, a Santa kit (knitted carrot, mince pie & bottle of beer!) and paper 'string of stars' - I'll  definitely be making these all year round as they're too good just for once a year!

One little thing I have to mention is I would've liked a list of suggested suppliers for some of the unusual craft materials required, but I guess these lists date quite quickly and it's so easy to search online for supplies.

This is a book for Mollie Makes' fan and crafters, though some of the projects - knitting, crochet & lino printing - mightn't be suitable for the beginner, unless they had a crafty mum, gran or friend to help out. But it could just be what they need to get inspired & start crafting ;)

Want to get your hands on a copy of 'Mollie Makes Christmas' for free?
Courtesy of the kind publishers, Collins & Brown, I have one copy of the book up for grabs in a little festive Arbee Cards' giveaway - yay!

Feeling Festive!

I know it's Hallowe'en today, but my head's been full of Christmas for the last couple of weeks...

As soon as the last of the summer weddings finished at the end of September, I had to think less about vintage lace and roses, and start thinking Santa, reindeer, snow, sparkle and ho-ho-ho!

Of course, I couldn't leave vintage and retro styling behind (it's what I do best) so after a couple of weeks' sketching, collecting ideas and getting a collection of designs together, the 2012 arbee cards' Christmas collection are ready to go on sale online now, and at St George's Market this weekend.

I've just finished photographing the new Christmas designs and have listed them in our Folksy and Etsy stores this evening. Here's a look at the new cards now - I have to admit I'm really happy with how they've turned out.

We've got our best Christmas offer ever too when you choose any three of the cards pack (mix or match) - have a look in our shops at Etsy offer or Folksy offer and some great prices on the card packs at St George's Market too.

Hope you like them and are starting to feel a little festive just like me!
