To book or not to book!

Alongside our collection of wedding stationery, I've been a regular Saturday stall holder at St George's Market, Belfast, for over 3 years now,  selling greeting cards, notebooks, art prints, notelets and other stationery goodies.

The market is great fun and the stall gets very busy at times, and over the past year, it's also become very busy with couples calling by about their wedding stationery.

It's a great place to chat with brides & grooms to be, to show them the portfolio and see the range and style of our other non-wedding designs (wedding inspiration is everywhere!) and to take time discussing their custom stationery.

Last Saturday I was fully booked with couples who had previously arranged to call by the stall about their wedding stationery - but then I had a lot of other couples drop by to see if they could view the samples too! Unfortunately this meant that there wasn't any way I could fit anyone else in and they would have to either book another time or call in another day at the market. One poor bride had travelled quite a distance to see me, and I was probably more disappointed that I didn't get to speak to her properly than she was! I really hate letting people down which is why I had to write a blog post about it.

I always prefer to take bookings for appointments as it means that I can try to avoid disappointing anyone who calls by. Of course it's always fine to drop by at the market any time that suits - but I always have to give priority to anyone who has booked an appointment. I get a lot of brides & grooms travelling miles to visit the stall and they often book weeks in advance.
